2 years agoWe discovered that healthcare professionals generally had poor levels of medical training. For instance, 67 percent of the tested healthcare professionals in rural Madhya Pradesh said they had no medical training at all. Additionally, we discovered that there were barely any changes in the way professional and untrained doctors followed clinical checklists, for example. Correct diagnoses were uncommon, inappropriate treatments were frequently administered, and private clinics had a better rate of compliance with clinical checklists than public clinics. -
We found low overall levels of medical training among health care providers. In rural Madhya Pradesh for example 67 percent of health care providers who were sampled reported no medical qualifications at all. And more we found only small differences between trained and untrained doctors in such areas as adherence to clinical checklists. Correct diagnoses were rare incorrect treatments were widely prescribed and adherence to clinical checklists was higher in private than in public clinics.
