I want to do a course in animation and gaming. From the industry and job point of view, what course is better-a Msc degree or a diploma?

I am not sure what are you aiming for. To become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, Only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. . So choose

M.Sc or a diploma both are good options but the significance of a particular course shall depend on your preference, previous education etc. If you are keen to pursue a specialized education then a diploma may sound sufficient but if you are keen to make a proper base then a degree like a M.Sc

In Animation and Gaming industry degree should not a matter, matter is your knowledge of software and most important thing is creativity. If you are more creative you do best in the industry. you can do both diploma or Msc doesn't matter.
