I want to do B.E./B.TECH. in MECHANICAL engineering. I want to know about LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY in my field.
Few say that LPU is a good university while some say that it is fake. I am really confused about it, LPU's official site states that the average package in B TECH there is 3.5 lakhs and some good students have got around 10 lakhs but, few locals there say that these are fake details. Kindly help me

As Shiksha is an Education portal which believes in giving unbiased guidance, it would be unfair on my part to give my personal judgment about a particular Institute. However, LPU is a low rung Autonomous University and is not approved by any Indian Educational body such as UGC etc. It

Dear Pooja, I agree with you on some part and as far as recognition is concerned, kindly check the link , http://www.ugc.ac.in/inside/privateuniversity.html. So, LPU is a private University recognised by UGC.

I will not comment on data or statistics of students, but LPU has done good marketing and the current image is because of marketing which may differ from reality. So you need to visit the campus and do FACT finding.
