I want to do B.Sc biology in IGNOU through distance education. How can I take admission in the same?

Hi Rishab, You can apply for the Bachelor's degree programme (BDP) at IGNOU which includes B.Sc programme. One of them is Life Sciences. So, you need to select elective courses of life Science or LSE in order to get a degree in that. IGNOU has a credit system based programmes. So, you have to complete32 credits per year and thus 96 credits in 3 years. For the first year, 16 credits will be from foundation courses. The rest of the credits is from your elective courses. To get a major degree i.e, B.Sc. (major) [IGNOU also has another degree called B.Sc. (general)], you need have 48 credits from the subject you wish to major. So, in your case, 48 credits from LSE. Only in the 3rd year, it is decided whether you have a B.Sc (zoo) or B.Sc (bot) where it depends upon the choice of your elective subject.
