I want to do B.Tech biotechnology. So is it compulsory to have maths in main subjects because I am 12th pass with PCB?

    Hi,
    1. Both at VIT and LPU, Maths is not compulsory in eligibility. Rather, you can be eligible with PCB subjects too.
    2. At LPU, Maths is not a subject in the 4 years of curriculum too, apart from probability and statistics in semester 3.
    So, The choice is yours, on one hand LPU is now ranked among top 100 by NIRF and top 2 band A by ATAL rankings by MHRD and on other hand VIT has a long standing heritage.
    Also fee structure of LPU is reasonable which gets even sweeter with heavy scholarships upto 35% of progrm fee.

    Yes, you can pursue B.Tech biotechnology. Maths is not compulsory.

    For your desired programme the eligibility criteria at LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST or In case student scored more than or equal to 90% in 10+2 , or 90 percentile in JEE Mains, then LPUNEST will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission.
    Therefore mathematics will not be a mandate, you can go ahead with PCB subjects.
