I want to drop my engineering and pursue my studies in arts or music. What should I do?d

I'm pursuing engineering and in my 2nd semester. I got 96% in state board 12th exam and 9.6 in 10th, CBSE. My parents decided that I can succeed in engineering because of my academic results. But I found my interests being ignored in their decision.

I can understand your frustration as in the beginning, engineering studies are very dry, boring and do not seem to connect with actual engineering solution. Interested or not, your marks in school suggest, you are a hard working person and studies come naturally to you. Therefore, your parent's deci

As per your marks and percentages it seems to be that you are good in studies. If you are managing still in engineering subjects then don't give up. If your interest is towards Arts subjects then spend your free time in it. I am sure your interest will not divert you but make you focus more towards

You should not leave engineering. You can pursue your interest later on. Also you could do studies in music along with the engineering. But, obviously with engineering and being a good student, you have good chances of getting a great career ahead.

You should change your plan slightly. First of all complete your engineering and then go for arts or music. Then you can have double advantage. There is no risk also.

Re think on your decision although I respect your choice but I suggest you do not take an early exit. To full fill your hobby you can join some evening classes of Music or fine arts. After completion of degree you can devote your full time in the area of your interest.
