I want to enrol my carrer in vfx but is the scope for vfx decreasing

Dear Tejas , Your idea to join Vfx is definitely a good decision , i'm not sure what lead you to feel that , the scope for vfx is reduced ! Rather earlier days where you had maximum two types of movies 1. Live action & 2. 3D animated or 2D animated movies , now in every next movies Vfx is playing a vital role . Big & prestigious companies like MPC , Tata Elexi , Reliance Entertainment are investing huge in this sector and working on BIG projects , in today's date , starting for news channels to tv channels , music channels every one is incomplete with the touch of vfx , not only that even a few sec of ads need vfx to attract audience & attention . For today's entertainment world its playing the role of salt in any curry and soup . Be assured that it has 200% better scope in coming days . I'm not sure about your educational qualification, if you are looking a course after 12th , then my genuine suggestion for you is Join Bsc in Vfx film making or if that is not ok with you then you can join a Advance diploma course on Vfx . Tejas, VFX is a field of applying your design knowledge to create pleasing effects to highlight and progress the story. So typically a VFX person either comes from animation or film making. The lower end staff comes from graphics. Now, ideally a Degree in either Animation or Film Making would qualify you to then take VFX as a specialization and also ensure that you stand on firm ground. Do not focus on what the certification is called, but search more on the learnings from the course. Something like VFX Pro at Arena or similar specialized course from elsewhere can be good. Only check if the faculty is of that level. Placement in VFX is better in South because of Multiple regional film industries. It could be good in Hyderabad and Chennai besides the usual options in Mumbai which supports the Hindi as well as north region film industries. Technical Director is the best post for a VFX Artist. And low end are Rotoscoping and Wireframe removal artists. Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Wish you the best for your career.
