I'm pursuing mechanical engineering through diploma in A.P in the college GOVT. POLYTECHNIC . I want to have a career based on designing ! i wanted to know about the further studies in this designing field!

Yes, you can have but you need to become an expert in AutoCAD besides having good knowledge of the machine design. Usually in diploma courses the focus on design aspect is comparatively lesser than that in degree courses.
