    Hello!
The biggest parameters to check the credentials of an institution are Rankings and placements. With top 100 and top 25 rankings by NRF and ATAL (MHRD) respectively, LPU is now among the top players, secondly the placements, over 700 companies conducted 900 plus placement drives for batch passing 2020 and offered thousands of students the dream packages. So yes LPU is one of the best in B.Tech, whether you take admission after 12th or in lateral entry. The eligibility for lateral entry B.Tech programme in Mechanical is:
Pass with 50% aggregate marks in ITI (in Technical field) 1 year/ 2 years Certificate course after 10th or 2 yea

Yes, you are eligible to join in the same department, by writing TS ECET exam. You have to focus much on the subjects what you have. You have to work hard, and should maintain 75% of the aggregate. The campus placements will be less for the mechanical engineering in all colleges. You have to write the GATE exam or any other competitive exams for your future studies.
