I want to join Civil Engineering but confused about which University to join? KINDLY SUGGEST?

Well, there are a few good universities in India for Civil Engineering. I can give you the answer to this question based on the feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Dept. So, the following are the highlights of Civil Engg in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of the B.Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program that could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career-oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. Nonetheless, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is a prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e.g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab. Now to work in multilingual environment, there is a high requirement of exposure to both National & International platform at the time of your pursuance of course itself. Lovely Professional University is one of the best institutes for engineering in the state of Punjab. So if a degree in B.Tech (Civil engineering) is what you seek, I suggest that you do consider LPU. I have sound reasons to actually make this suggestion. Actually I did MBA from Lovely Professional University but I have one friend who has done B.Tech Civil Engineering From LPU. He told me B.Tech in civil engineering course involves so much more than theoretical know-how. In addition to classroom lectures, students here learn via hands-on experiences which include site visits, lab sessions and so on. PPTs, animations and similar technological techniques are a regular part of classroom teaching too. The course material provided here enables to practice civil engineering using up-to-date techniques, skills, and tools as a result of life-long learning ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. The course benefits the students by giving them an understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities.
