GFTS is one of the top government-held flying training schools in Bangalore. The institute has an average intake of 20 to 25 students per batch for Commercial Pilot's License (CPL) training. The duration of the CPL course is approximately 24 months, which includes a compulsory minimum flying requirement of 200 hours. It also includes theoretical courses in air regulation, air navigation, aircraft general training, and technical training specific to aircraft and engines. The eligibility criteria are given below. Age: The minimum age required is 17 years, and the upper age limit is 35 years. Academic: The applicant must have cleared 10 + 2 with Physics and Math from a recognized board or equivalent. Medical fitness: The applicant should be medically fit as per the standards laid down by DGCA.
