I want to make my career in genetics,is there any entrance for pune university for genetics?,how can i get admission ?

Hi, At present, most of the universities/institutes do not offer courses in genetic engineering as a separate discipline, but as a subsidiary to biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry streams. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Biotechnology offer specialisation in genetic engineering. After Plus Two, you can gain admission for B.Tech. in Genetic Engineering/Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering through an entrance test. Another option is to undergo three-year BSc degree course in Genetics / Biological Science / Life Science / Biotechnology subjects and then go for post graduation in genetics. Only SRM Institute of Science and Technology (<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="www.srmuniv.ac.in" style='word-wrap:break-word;'>www.srmuniv.ac.in</a>) has introduced a four-year B.Tech. course in Genetic Engineering on the Ramapuram campus. Those who have passed 10 + 2 / equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks in biology, physics and chemistry are eligible for admission. Selection is based on an all-India level entrance test. Selection to the graduate courses (BE / B.Tech) is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams. University of Pune offers M.Sc Biotechnology with genetics as an subject. The admission is on the basis of a Combined Entrance Examination conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University. Hope this helps.
