Typically, in most MBA programs, the first year is common and helps students build a foundation in core subjects. One has to select the stream /specialisation in the second year. Therefore, you should select your stream basis your interest once you have studied some of the subjects in the first year.
Some of the top colleges are the various IIM, ISB, FMS, SP Jain, XLRI. You can check out the b-school rankings that are published by Business Today.
