I want to pursue PG in PR and corporate communications. Wat are the job prospects after this? I have done B.E in IT and 1 ye exp in Deluxe.

I am ex-XIC student myself, though I did my Advertising and Marketing course from there. Anyhow, I do know a bit bout PR as well. I feel, course wise, infrastructure wise, lecturer wise, XIC is one of the finest institutes in India. It is a tedious course and you'll have to slog for 10 months to come out in flying colours! If you are ready to put in that effort, then please feel rest assured satisfactory placements (if not more) will come your way. Also, PR and Corp. Comm. is field, where you need flare, self-confidence and an attitude that is acceptable to all. If you possess these qualities, then after your placement, you will surely succeed. Now coming to the companies and the remuneration. At XIC, for PR, there is a placement week, where all the companies come in and select students. As far as I know, almost the students got placed. Starting salary for freshers ranges form 20k-30k, and it grows in proportion to your zeal. So, bring your best game on and you shall succeed in this field. Besties! Cheers :)

Hi Saurav, PR is basically a course which is related to Mass Media. PR is a very good course and has a lot of demand in the professional market. PR requires more of personality and communication skills, one needs to get his or her work done. Hi Saurav, the scope is good for graduates in Public Relations and Corporate communications. PR and Corporate communications is usually offered as a subject of specialization at the post graduate level for which the eligibility is a graduation. Also there are entrance tests and interview prior to admission. There are also diploma programs offered in the same. However post graduation will have better career prospects. As for the placements, I would say no institute can guarantee you placements. It entirely depends on your capabilities and utilization of skills. There are rich and varied opportunities available in Business Corporations, Non Profit agencies, PR Specialist Service Providers, PR Advertising Agencies, NGOs, Government Divisions and Departments, Academia and in the Mass Media News and Entertainment Industry Corporations.
