I want to start my preparation for CAT exam. I am 1st year B.Tech student.How to start preparation? I am not joining any coaching

From where to take study material,books. Which books are the best?. Plz guide me.Which newspapers,magazines will be helpful .plz tell?Shall i join any coaching this time only.or i should join it in 2nd year .If yes then why?

Well Not all but some students manage themselves to get through the entrance examination. (no offence)So joining a coaching institute wouldn't be a wrong choice as being a 1st year student you could practice is side by side and it won't be much burden. Happy studying !
