I want to start preparing for gate exam 2017.so that i can get good rank which leads me to iit bombay m tech course.

It is good that you are planning to start preparation for GATE from now but I would recommend to focus on your engineering subjects and understand them deeply.
Use NPTEL material for preparation: http://nptel.iitm.ac.in/
