I want to study B.Sc but I did 12th from commerce. Is there a way to get into B.Sc physics in any college or do I have to repeat 12th?

Asked about TIFR - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research - Discontinued (Aug 2021)- B.Sc. in Physics

I was always passionate about science but I took commerce because I scored less in 10th.

No dear, this is not possible to do class 12th with Commerce, and then do B.Sc. So, you have to repeat class 12th with science stream, because both the streams are completely different from each other. And, B.Sc in physics is again a difficult one. But, if you are sure now to change your stream, then you must pursue class 12 with science again.
Yes, most importantly please think twice before taking any step, as it is about your whole life. Your single decision can change your entire life, so please make sure that you must be clear with what you are doing.

It is actually not possible to do B.Sc after doing class 12th with commerce. You need to do class 12th with science to pursue B.Sc. There are many other interesting options after class 12th commerce. Commerce itself is a subject which a lot of students are opting for.
I need to know the reason what made you think like that. Students usually are very clear in their minds when they choose the stream after class 10th. There should be something which made you think of changing your stream.

Hi.

If you apply with JEE Main scores, CU primarily considers your JEE Main percentile / AIR for admission.

12th marks are generally secondary in this case — mostly used for eligibility criteria (like minimum 50–60% in PCM or aggregate, depending on branch).

High JEE scores can also qualify you for JEE-based scholarships at CU.

Hi.

Yes — for admission to B.Tech/B.E. at Chandigarh University (CU), there is a requirement on your 12th‑class marks (along with other eligibility conditions), even if you're using your JEE Main score.

What's required from 12th (or equivalent) at CU

You must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognised board with Physics and Mathematics.

For many B.Tech courses at CU, including those that accept JEE Main or CU's entrance (CUCET), the minimum aggregate requirement in 12th is around 50% (for general or merit‑based eligibility) as a baseline.

Some sources show that for “full eligibility” (especially for certa

Hi.

If your 12th result has not been announced yet then

Upload expected / provisional marks for now.

Final admission depends on the official 12th mark sheet after results are announced.

Colleges are used to this situation, especially for students applying in early cycles.

Hi.

AIIMS is primarily a medical college/university (undergraduate, postgraduate, super-speciality, etc.) + a hospital.

Its courses begin after Class 12 — i.e. you must have completed 12th standard (10+2) to be eligible for entry into courses like MBBS, B.Sc., etc.

The official course list of AIIMS includes medical and allied health degrees — not school-level classes (11th / 12th) as per its academic catalogue.

Thus, AIIMS itself does not run 11th and 12th standard as a school.
