I want to study in mit and want to know how to start preparing for it as i am just in the first year and have got lot of time for prepration

As i am not from iit or nit is that a drawback? does the marks of high school matter a lot for getting into mit or excellent academic record in graduation is enough? they say if you have got a few research paper published it is an advantage is it true?

First of all, let me congratulate you that being a first year student, you have set your goal for post graduation from the world's best technical university. Not being from IIT or NIT does not have direct bearing on your admission prospect but since they have better labs, research facilities and goo
