I want to take admission for B.Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture. Do I have to give entrance exam or direct admission on merit?

You have to go through the entrance exam whereas eligibility of this course is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, physics, chemistry and maths or biology or forestry) OR 10+2 or intermediate (agriculture) OR 2 years Diploma in agriculture after 10th or equivalent, subject to valid score in LPUNEST or NEET

LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (Govt. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU got this accreditation last year (2018). All the courses that run at undergraduate and post graduate level are all accredited by ICAR. It counts BSc (Hons.) Agriculture, MSc Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), MSc Ag. (Agronomy) and MSc Ag. Horticulture (Fruit Science) programmes are accredited to ICAR by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India. In order to seek admission in LPU for B.Sc Hons Agriculture you need to qualify the LPU Nest Entrance Exam as it is mandate and there after you can take your admission.

In addition to it, you have to qualify for the LPUNEST exam conducted by LPU. LPU is the first private university that got approval from ICAR. (i). I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. In LPU the eligibility is Qualifying LPUNEST and Pass with 60% aggregate marks in: (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.

Hi, LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. The Eligibility of B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture in LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. Moreover, LPU offers different types of scholarships on the basis of marks in either of the last two qualifications, LPUNEST, Sports, Defence, COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship, and many more. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, only one scholarship you will get is the maximum one. The best thing is if you get the scholarship, the tuition fees after getting a scholarship will be applicable every semester except a few types of scholarships. The last date for admission to avail maximum scholarship is 15th July 2020.
