I wanted to become a loco pilot. now i completed my 12th computer science. what should i do next? should i go for diploma in ME or degree?

I did not write entrance and i do not want to go for b-tech. Which is good diploma in mechanical engineering or just a degree. If your suggestion is degree then what degree should i take?
