Hotel management is a tricky field, but has plenty of potential. Right now the overall industry is down and that has affected the job creation. But surviving in this industry is difficult, unless you have the skill set. Go for hotel management and them get an MBA aswell. That will help her to stand

Be a hit or a miss. You will never know unless you get into it. But there's plenty of potential. And believe me when I say this. If you get into a Management trainee programme with a hotel chain, consider you life set, anything below that would prove to be slightly difficult.
