I will be writing my 12th boards & JEE'17 but haven't started preparing yet. Will I be able to cover the syllabus of both at this time?

Start your preparation with NCERT books only and if you have time left with you then go through previous year's question papers of JEE Mains. 60% portion is of class 12th, so study with whole heart to get selected.

No, you cannot. It is better for you to focus on boards. Prepare for JEE Mains next year. Trust me, if you prepare for both the exams then you will not be able to get good marks in any of them.
