Hi, Firstly, there is no age limitation to appear in IIT JAM exam. Secondly, I am mentioning some of the government sectors where you can get a job after qualifying JAM exam:
Defense Research and Development organisation (DRDO)
    Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad
    Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi
Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata
    Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)
    Indian Space Research organisation (ISRO).

There will be problems depending on the job you are seeking. If you are going into private sector they will definitely demand a solid reason for gaps. Some government departments have the age limit of 40 years, so work according to that.
  • Hello Srinivas,
You need to claim and concrete the valid reason in placement for age crisis. If you're aspiring teaching and research career means, then no issue.
All the best for your future.
