I worked for small contractor after 12th for 3 yrs.then completed my engineering last year.did 5 month marketing job.now planning MBA

I graduated last year.did a marketing job in a private firm.for about 5 months but left it as my dad was in his last days as he was suffering from cancer.now he passed away.i am the eldest in my family.didn't had sound academic record as i had education record.how shall I move inmy career?
