I would like to confirm whether distance PH.D has been cancelled or not as I have been selected by IGNOU for the same?

i am selected for Phd in chemistry from IGNOU .One month back I came to know that distance phd s are cancelled through distance education .I want to know the exact information.eagarly waiing for ur reply

Dear Lakshmi, There is no such news from UGC. UGC is the highest authority body in deciding this matter. Today, Ph.D is offered world over in distance mode. The latest UGC decision says that Ph.D. should not be offered without any entrance test. Part time, external mode and distance Ph.D is still go
