You need to look at the CAT exam, from a totally different perspective. You have three sections in CAT, as in, Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The trend of CAT has been the change in the format each year. You need to ensure that your fundamentals are strong. As far as Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning is concerned, you should have the ability to analyse the data quickly and be very fast in your calculations. Reading Comprehension demands extensive practice. You need to have a huge vocabulary in your arsenal. Vocabulary is very critical because if you do not understand the meaning of one word, you stand at a huge risk of making an error. Moreover you should also be well versed with idiomatic phrases, one word substitutes and foreign words because all these areas may be part of the question. Quantitative Aptitude demands that you be very strong in your fundamentals. You need to solve different kinds of questions. Some questions might be simple but very tricky so you need to have the ability to understand what exactly is expected of you.
