iam pursuing my btech 2nd year mechanical.I would like to go for civil services pls suggest me the process n wat is required n how to start my preparation pls ....shall i need to start now n is their any compulsary to continue my mech subjects to it...????

You will have to compete the preliminary exam of the UPSC first before undertaking a regular exam for civil services. For detailed information please check the information available at the following link:
