Admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are based on Joint Entrance Examination Main scores, not Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Yes, he can get NITs if failed in JEE Advanced exam. The seats allotment of NITs, IIITs and GFTIs are based on JEE Main ranks. So, if he is participating and falling in seats allotment process of CASB, he can get admission in NITs if meeting the admission eligibility criteria.
