    The academic session for students admitted through the Common Law Admission Test mostly commences in July. The successive steps would be document verification and fee payment, and orientation programs before classes commence, subsequent to clearing the CLAT and getting accepted in the first round of counselling, usually held in December.

    Shown below is an overview of what the timeline for the admission process for CLAT looks like: 
    December: First round of seat allotment and acceptance. 
    January to June: Further counselling, verification of documents, and payment of fees.
    July: Beginning of the academic session.
