If a student gets his engineering degree after 5 years in India, what type of rules are applied to his candidature for further studies?

There is nothing wrong with engineering degree completed in 5 years. Both degrees i.e. 4 and 5 years have equal opportunities in employment and higher studies. So there is no specific rule for the students.
