If a student pursues B.Tech in mining stream from UGC approved college, can he apply for BCCL, SAIL, GATE, etc.?

    First of all, B.Tech courses are approved by AICTE. And these exams you mentioned ask only for AICTE approved courses only. College can be UGC approved but courses have to be approved by necessary Board. But if you do B.Tech from a recognised college then you are certainly eligible for these exams give that you score 50%+ in B.Tech.

    Of course. However, the fact of the matter is - the companies as per the question fill in their vacancies only through GATE for the B.Tech relevant candidates. So, for getting into these companies, one might clear GATE exam first and then seek further application procedures for these companies.
