    Hi,
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is "YES". CAT preparation won't be sufficient enough for GMAT and the same holds true if you are preparing for GMAT. This is because the intention to check on the areas are very different in both the exams. CAT tests your ability mainly on your 1- Quantitative abilities 2- Data Interpretation/ Logical Reasoning and 3- Verbal Ability. GMAT on the other side tests your, quant, Verbal, AWA, IR. You may think Quant and Verbal overlap in both but this isn't enough as the difficulty is not the same in both. Quant in CAT is at a higher level than GMAT. Although the syllabus of CAT and GMAT are quite similar, but the difficulty level of the Quant section in GMAT is far lesser than that of CAT exam. Similarly, in the Verbal Section, there are diverse questions in GMAT. Furthermore, the critical reasoning section in GMAT is not there in CAT. You also need to think about the analytical writing assessment in GMAT which is not a part of CAT. However I can assure you that if you have prepared for CAT very well, you will have less difficulty in Quantitative aptitude section of GMAT. So, you need to spend less time o

CAT is a very higher level of examination which includes a lot of things. If you are preparing for CAT, then there is not necessary to study separately for GMAT. However, there are some sections which are not in GMAT.

To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
