If I am preparing for CAT, do I need to prepare separately for TISSNET?

Candidates preparing for CAT simultaneously prepare for TISSNET exam. However, confusion prevails on how to synchronize the CAT exam preparation along with the TISSNET. TISS National Entrance Test is conducted at the University level for admission to Masters (Master of Arts / Master of Science / B.Ed-MEd Integrated ) Programmes of TISS campuses, whereas, CAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by Iims for admission to Iims and other top B-schools across India. Not necessary, as same syllabus are for both the exams. Just follow your speed in TISSNET more. Also, focus on general awareness for TISSNET, as it is scoring one.

7 years agoThe preparation part for TISSNET is very much similar to CAT. As I say this, CAT can be assumed as a super set of TISSNET as far as preparation is concerned.
Now, to simply put the answer is 'No'. You need not prepare separately for both exams. Preparing for CAT will ensure you have prepared 90% for TISSNET as well.
Apart for regular CAT study the other thing must to cover TISSNET is practicing mock papers and past year papers of TISSNET.
This will ensure that you know the format of the exam and are well prepared for it.
Keep in mind the only key to hack the exams is hard work mixed with smart work.
