The MHT-CET or Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. The degree courses of the following streams are mainly accounted for in this entrance exam:
Engineering
Pharmacy
MHCET has total 150 marks in which it has three sections which are:

It's a good query that needs proper resolution.
Let us first understand the question. It connotes that the student concerned is from Maharashtra and is desirous of attempting JEE along with his MHT CET.
Well, the syllabus for former is same as that for 12th of CBSE while syllabus for later is same as that for 12th of Maharashtra board. It was a fact that earlier these two syllabi were different with perceived toughness in CBSE as compared with Maharashtra board. This led to lot of agitations. However the syllabus of all classes has been changed and the one for 12th has been brought on par with that of CBSE.

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test will soon be introduced with few significant changes. DTE Maharashtra, the conducting body of MHT CET, is working on upgrading the syllabus of the examination. Apart from this, there have been speculations that the level of CET will be brought at par with the level of national entrance examinations like JEE and NEET.
The decision is assumed to be a fruitful one because now the students will follow only one syllabus but will be automatically preparing for CET, JEE, and NEET. The state-level common entrance exam is conducted for enrollment of students in the fields of technology.

The answer in general is yes and no. If you have studied for JEE rigorously and have clarity of concepts then you don't have to study anything separately. But surely you need to prepare for MHCET as the pattern is different and the time constraint is more of a concern here. Mainly revise everything which you have studied till now. Generally, memorize all the formulas for general cases as the exam has a lot of time constraint. Once check the syllabus and make sure you didn't leave any important topic.
