If I fail in 3 subs of the half-yearly exams of 12th, will the school bar me from taking boards or ask me to repeat class 12th?

Hello Mihika, It totally depends on your school as many schools in India don't consider your performance in 12th half yearly examinations and they easily give you admit card for your boards, so I will recommend you to talk to the school management as soon as possible.
