If I fail in JEE Main paper 2 exam, will it prevent me from getting a good engineering college through my well given paper 1 result?

Yes, of course. You can get a good engineering college with JEE paper 1. It doesn't depend on your paper 2 and if you have not given your JEE paper 2, don't worry you are safe. If you have any other queries, you may ask.

Yes, you'd get admission in engineering through paper 1 score of JEE Mains. Although it would be wise if you opt for only engineering paper 1 if you don't want to pursue architecture.

Yes, of course, both the papers have different importance. The rank of Paper 2 is only for architecture admissions and rank of paper 1 is for admission in the rest of the branches. Paper 1 is for BE and B.Tech and Paper 2 is meant for Architecture graduate. So, either one is good or not giving paper 2 is a small thing, it simply means no B.Arch, if you are not interested in.
