If I fail in my additional subject will I be eligible to take admission in LPU for B.Sc agriculture?

Dear Pratim, My friend is pursuing a B.Sc. In Agriculture programme at LPU. Let me share the details of eligibility of the programme which is you should have passed with 60% aggregate marks in: (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent Moreover, you have to qualify for the LPU NEST exam conducted by LPU. LPU is the first private university that got approval from ICAR. (I). The school of Agriculture was approved for accreditation for a period of five years with a GPAC of 3.42 (ii) The following degree programs were approved for accreditation for a period of five years B.Sc. (Hons. ). Agriculture with GPAP of 3.72 Placement: Students of the School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Sanra organics, and many more. The maximum package offered for B.Sc. In Agri. At LPU is 19.25 LPA and the average package is 3.4 LPA. No! Inorder to get admission in B.Sc Agriculture you need to have the eligibility criteria for B.Sc. Hons Agriculture includes 60% in 10+2/Intermediate with English Physics Chemistry and Maths/ Biology/ Forestry + LPU NEST or 60% in 10+2/Intermediate 10+2 (Agriculture) + LPU NEST or 60% in 2 year Diploma (Agriculture) after 10th + LPUNEST Age Condition :- Minimum 16 Years (I. e. born on or before last date of admission). LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (government. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU got this accreditation last year (2018). All the courses that run at undergraduate and post graduate level are all accredited by ICAR. It counts B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. Hi, Being an Education Consultant, I know it is very tricky. Few institutes are considering and few are not considering it. As far as LPU concerned, I know that they are very strict especially in the eligibility criteria and they do their verification process in various steps. So, no one can make fool of them. First thing, you should keep on your mind: 1. Although, an English subject could not be additional still by any chance LPU will not consider you eligible if you failed in English subject. 2. Irrespective of the fact that you are failed in an additional subject if your respective Education board (must be approved by COBSE) write your result as a pass then only LPU will consider you eligible. 3. LPU does not entertain Re-appear cases, there are many special conditions, but nutshell is, you have to produce the result in Pass. 4. LPU takes aggregate marks of best of 5 subjects and if the subject in which you are failed is the sixth or additional subject and is not mandatory for the minimum eligibility, then LPU will consider you as an eligible candidate.

If you pass in 5 subjects, and failed in one of your main subject, then you are declared successful. No doubt there. If you want, then you can give compartment exam during the same year. Contact your principal and apply for reappearing in respective exam as soon as possible. Also, if you don't want to clear and if you are satisfied with your result, then don't appear for re-exam. Now, the question comes whether you should or you shouldn't. It totally depends on what future you are planning for yourself. If that subject is required there, they do give re-exam.
