If I leave NIT after studying for a few days and do not join any institution, will I be eligible for NIT admission next year?
I passed my 12th in 2017 and took admission in NIT, Patna.

As per the eligibility criteria of JEE Main Candidates can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years. Because you have passed 12th in year 2017 so you can appear in JEE Main in three consecutive years 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.
