  • No, qualifying the UGC NET exam will not gaurantee the job for assistant professorship in college or university, it is only an eligibility exam. It means that candidates who will qualify for the exam are eligible to become an assistant professorship. To get job as assistant professorship they will need to apply for the vacancies released by the different universities. On the other hand, the qualified candidates who want to take jobs in the government universities have to appear in the exams conducted by the Central and State universities.
