To be straight;For NITs and State Level engineering college, you need to score in JEE Mains Exam. However, for IITs and other national level engineering colleges you need to score in JEE Advance. Your Selection is also depends upon your category. Hope this helps. Good Luck. -
It depends upon your category as well as marks you scored in the JEE main exam. For instance, if you are a general category and scored around 180-200 marks in JEE mains, then you may get the NIT or even IIIT. But if you score 90-120 as in SC/ST then you have greater chance of getting an IIT. It totally depends upon the reservation system as well as the scores in exam. For general category, one even had to give Adavanced exam and then only he will be getting IIT if he scores a very good marks in JEE Advanced.
