If I take admission in BDS this year, am I ineligible to apply for medical entrance next year?

I am a medical aspirant (passed my 12th from cbse with 84%) despite my efforts I cud'nt get good rank in medical entrances. but can get admission in BDS course. I don't want to give up my dream of becoming a doctor. the only options left are to drop an year (my parents are against it) or to take BDS
