IITs and IIMs : Are they God men?
Do you think IIT and IIM graduates are treated differently in the industry?
-
More important part are the students of IIMs and IITs for this differentiation in job recruitment. Its not easy to get selected in these institutes, you must have great amount of knowledge with analytical power especially in IIMs where GDPI round have much importance. So, dont you think companies will like to recruit persons those have good GDPI abilities those are tested previously and developed regularly with course structure of institute.

Equality is there however there is differentiation as students have different minds and capabilities. Top notch companies want sharp & creative minds for their business & these companies can even afford to pay at much par then other companies in particular industry. Not all companies want such minds so they select from other colleges & B-Schools with good but not fancy packages.

Head Honcho's are allawayes looking for deserving growth partners not the out comers from IIT's/IIM's only. When the company is in a crisis, for an employee, there are nothing wrose than getting to know about it from "out side" or a third party. This makes the employee feel aliented by the employer. It compels employees the panic button due to which job hunt begain and resignation starts pouring in.
Then IIT's/IIM's eans far ahed from others .
Thank's for invitation. -

IITs and IIMs are among the best institutes in India, undoubtedly these institutes have the best of faculty and facilities, so the students from these institutes are absorbed by the best companies. I would request Vikas Naidu amitesh saha Kamaraju Pulugurtha HISBANUR RAHMAN to share their expert opinion on this.

well in my opinion yes of course. IITs and IIMs or any other students who has passed out from a well reputed university is given more weightage and preference when they are looking for jobs. I will not have to look very far if I have to cite instances. Its in the family. My cousin who passed out from IITB got an initial package of 5.5, pass from NUJS got 6.5, pass out from Amity got 4.0. Of course they all did different course but jus comparing the starting packages of freshers.
When it comes to switching jobs again such students are preferred over students from other colleges or univ. This instance is again from real life. A pass out...more -
Well, they may not be God Men but definitely the top brains, focused, laborious, know how to chase target and have great analytic mind. It is because of highly competitive screening, robust academic environment and fantastic academic infrastructure at IIT & IIM. I being IIT alumni myself can vouch for it. The industry interface, computers and labs are unmatched even by other top 10-15 colleges. Can any one tell me which institute has IC fabrication Lab or cryogenic production department ? Can any one tell me which institutes were having e-mail in campus in 1990? Can any one tell which institute had thin film & thick film production lab...more

Firstly, it depends hugely a lot on the company a person is going to join after passing out from such elite institutes.
And well as we all know that the salary quotient is obviously on the higher side for graduates & post graduates from these elite group colleges (While saying Elite, I mean to include not just the IITs & IIMs but the other colleges as well which count among India's Top 20 in their respective domains).
Now coming to the extra-importance in the industries, its generally over-hyped that those students coming from such good colleges get some special treatment. I can cite in-numerous examples of the people who are not at all...more -
