Please tell me WHY you want to do Ph.D at THIS stage? Please do not mis-understand me, but I wish we could discuss what exactly are your plans after completion of this Ph.D- whether you wish for a "MID-CAREER Shift" as they call it, how old are you, are you married with children etc. In
