Digital Marketing is in vogue. its infact like a fever spreading everywhere and everyone with or without your permission. this is the time of FB, Smart phones.ipads.gadgets and people are hooked on.irrespective of the gender or age.so this has to be the best media of marketing.digitalize the marketing of ur product and it will be seen. Since this is education portal.I would like to mention that in terms of education , this genre is still untapped or rather disguised and infact covered under the likes of sales , Marketing all together etc. HOwever in corpoate sector,,,,this is selling like hot cake.every company needs a seperate digital marketing team.the horizon of reaching consumer through digital world has expanded so vastly that it has become a mandatory and compulsory affair for companies to hire exclusive staff for it.this field is like a spark.Its has a potential to covert into fire.

Thanks Aneeket. When it comes to contemporary topics like social media, Facebook, etc. students do write reasonably well. Problem are with conventional and old generation preferred topics which most students should brush up along with latest political, social, economy and business related topics too.

If preparing for digital marketing, one must study the basics of SEO and analytics from google search. Those who wish to have more knowledge in digital marketing must also study the basic information on Google analytics, facebook Insights, Hootsuite, tweet burner, LinkedIn insights and web analytics such as Omniture, sentiment analysis, etc. and some of the multi channel online campaign management tools. All B-schools in India should have included these in their marketing curriculum but unfortunately none does and these are the things today's marketing guys need to know than memorizing 4 or 7 P's of marketing and BCG metrix .

As per the valuable views of Dr. Sudhiranjan Dey Gopal Gidwani , I would like to summarize this GD topic - Foreign direct investment (FDI) on a positive note. - FDI will bring foreign investments in India which will help improve basic infrastructure and create lot of jobs in infrastructure development, supply chain management and many other associate areas and in all levels. - The farmers and producers of various goods will get to earn more as international retailers will directly buy from them to get cheaper to sell at competitive price. No need of the middlemen. - Common citizens will have greater and cheaper options to select from. Indian companies will not be able to ruthlessly exploit the customers as they all traditionally do. - FDI even plays an important and positive role in Insurance. Entry of Foreign companies will bring in more capital with much needed technical expertise and technology which will help increase insurance penetration in India along with many other benefits. Where some are welcoming FDI with open arms there are others who are totally against it. FDI has been taken as a threat to small shops which is somewhat impractical as in none of the Asian countries where international retailers are operating from decades the small shops had closed down, rather the number had significantly increased. Therefore, one can easily say that FDI might bring in employment opportunities for the educated in retail sector, however, it might lead to unemployment for the people below the poverty line.

I would like to share my thoughts on FDI in Insurance. The current Government Regulations allows foreign insurance companies to own 26% shares in Indian Insurance Companies. Now the Government is planning to increase this shareholding limit from 26% to 49%. Allowing the foreign insurance companies to increase their shareholding to 49% will benefit Indian Insurance Companies in a number of ways. The first benefit will be foreign insurance companies bringing in the much needed capital. Insurance business is highly capital intensive. For every Rs. 100 of life insurance cover that insurance companies provide to anyone they need to set aside Rs. 150 for claim settlement. This in technical terms is also known as solvency ratio. Apart from meeting solvency requirements which are mandatory as per IRDA, insurance companies also need money to expand their infrastructure and set up presence in new locations to expand business. The second benefit will be foreign insurance companies bringing in much needed technical expertise related to insurance products. The Indian Insurance companies are just 12 years old (private insurers were allowed only in year 2000), whereas many of their foreign counterparts have more than 50 or more than 100 years of experience. Only LIC has been around from 1956. The third benefit will be foreign insurance companies will bring in technology and their best practices. The fourth benefit will be the job opportunities that will be up for grabs once the insurance market expands with the increased participation of foreign insurance companies in the Indian Market. The fifth benefit will be generation of funds for investment in infrastructure projects. The annual premiums that insurance companies collect is for long term ranging to say 10 years to 30 years. These long funds can be used for building the country's infrastructure like roads, dams, bridges, airports, ports, industries etc. In India the penetration of life insurance is very low at around 5%. This in simple terms means out of every 100 people only 5 people have life insurance cover. Also a number of these 5% people are under-insured i.e. they have less life insurance cover than they should actually have. So allowing FDI in insurance from 26% to 49% will help increase insurance penetration in India along with many other benefits.

In general the characters of FDI are similar. One more important point I had missed out that FDI and successful entry of international players in Indian market (be it retail, pension, airlines, insurance .) its highly beneficial for common citizens as we will have greater and cheaper options to select from and Indian companies will not be able to ruthlessly exploit the customers as they all traditionally done and still doing.

As regards to FDI in retail, I can mention a few important points. 1. FDI will bring foreign investments in India which is very important in a developing economy like India which is not having enough exports revenue as China. 2. The FDI will also help India to improve its basic infrastructure which is very poor in comparison to most Asian nations. 3. FDI in retail will create lot of jobs in its own sector as well as in infrastructure development, supply chain management and many other associate areas and in all levels. 4. International retail players will bring their high degree of professional standards and better practices including greater higher pay packages which does not exist today in Indian retailing sector. 5. Indian market, its demand and supply, politics, politicians, government and the entire economy is manipulated, controlled and unethically exploited by Indian middlemen and businessmen who are currently protected by the government and system will face tough competitions from foreign companies. 6. The farmers and producers of various goods will get to earn more as international retailers will directly buy from them to get cheaper to sell at competitive price as today almost 40% of the mark up are enjoyed by the middlemen. Many talks about FDI to be a threat to small shops which is totally impractical and absurd because in none of the Asian countries where international retailers are operating from decades the small shops had closed down, rather the number of small shops had significantly increased. Since India had witnessed growth of large Indian retailers the growth of small sellers had witnessed 300% increase in Delhi NCR itself.

After going through the views given by @Arun Mishra, I would like to summarize that Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India. This card has its own Pros and Cons. Starting with Pros- 1. Unique identification of every single person thus one does not have to go for ration Card/ electricity bills as id proof 2. It will serve as document for age proof, address proof and nationality proof. 3. It includes biometric information (photograph, iris-scan, fingerprints) thus unlike DL, making it purely genuine!! 4. Govt is giving financial benefits like subsidy to people thru this card info directly into Bank. 5. Its free. 6. It does not need to renewed over a period of time. Cons- 1. Its not being practiced actively. 2. Very less info about the procedure to get an Aadhar ? 3. Aadhaar is not a compulsory approach instead, it is voluntary based and any individual who is interested in having Aadhaar number for himself/herself 4. Govt. hasn't done much to promote Aadhaar and as a result very few have learned about it! 5. Infact the govt. hasn't received a good feedback from people who have got their Aadhaar Number. 6. It is still under planning on how to be implemented. 7. As long as getting an Aadhar no. will remain with govt. Agencies, it can be difficult to get 1.
