Hello,
At certain point, yes, it is true that doing MBA from a big and costly college is worth investment. But there are such people as well who are doing very well in their job career even after doing MBA from an average costing college.
This question brings me to the following 2 scenarios, please try and understand, it is my personal opinion:
1. Doing MBA from a costly college and get a shining package in your very first job.
2. Doing MBA from a less expensive or normal college, and get less opportunities to get good salary package with a fine job.
Now, there are people who study from top college but pass out with average results, and m...more -
Hi,
In today's aspects if you have done MBA from a good college which holds good placement record is worthy.
MBA cost varies from college to college, nowadays it is mostly cost effective. So with the emerging world and emerging industries the demand for management is increasing day by day. So the demand for managers is also increasing day by day.
It is smart to invest in MBA only when you are sure to get better ROI.
So, if you are interested in choosing your career as manager in future, then only you must invest in MBA programme and must assure yourself that your salary package should be more than the amount of money you invested in you...more -
According to my opinion, I would say that costly MBA program is not a smart investment. It depends on the students, that how they utilize their resources and how they get placements. Pursuing MBA from an average college can also get you placed with a package of 7-8 lacs per annum. But, you will only get this amount when you have that skills, and when you are able to convince the interviewers. No institute promise 100% placement for you. It totally depends on your efforts and the way you perform in those two years.
If you invest 5-6 lacs in an average college, and get a placement of 5.5 or 6.5 lacs, then it is a good salary and is good...more -

It is hard to find a B-School which provides a cheap and good quality of knowledge in Master of business administration (MBA). Now talking of investment if someone is interested in doing a Master in business administration (MBA) he/she will always do that and if you want to compare with other courses then there are several facts that you should check before getting admission. One of the facts that matters a lot is how the B-School is performing in last few years. Whether the quality of education is same, enriched or declined in recent years? What wa...more

Yes, it is a smart option, especially for people who have a work experience of at least 2 years. People get a chance to switch their jobs from technical roles and support the same with managerial role with the help of MBA. It gives chance of getting bigger package after completing MBA or PGDM. In one word-yes. Firstly, the worldly things. It increases your pay scale. In a few words, you're likely to earn a salary in the low six digits or high five digits if you have an MBA degree. Without one, you're likely to earn below INR 60,000 a month. The stats indicate that you'll be able to pay off your debt (educational or any other) in a few years with the money you're making. It turns out to be more important if you are thinking about setting up a business or start-up. As a founder, you are often faced with the task of making difficult decisions with limited time and information. The only thing that matters in this debate is you....more

You can say that it is a kind of gamble as investment in MBA can be very good factor of Return on investment, many a times it can prove to be double the investment made. Like if you are studying in premier B-school like IIM, IIFT, MDI, FMS, JBIMS, SPJIMR, NMIMS, XIMB, XLRI, XIME, Loyola, TAPMI, BITS, etc. almost all of them will cost you heavily to complete your MBA (except for JBIMS) but when it comes to placement record, these institutes will definitely prove their worth. You will recover almost 90% investment made by you from your first year placement package. They place you around average package of 15-20 lakh per annum and this is...more

Whether you join a public business school or a private business school, assume to pay around 10, 00,000-30, 00,000 in tuition alone. But the actual opportunity cost is the salary you sacrifice and the two years of career experience you miss. If you are in banking, two years is an infinity since it generally takes three years to get promoted to the next level e.g. three years as an Associate before you can be considered for VP, three years as a VP before you can be considered for Director, and three-to-four years as a Director before you can be considered for Managing Director.
If you actually do not like what you are doing, and find no...more
