It depends a lot on the job-profile. if job is related with operation in an engineering or manufacturing firm than preference would be given to those person who have a combination of B.Tech + MBA. But if job is related with finance than preference will be given those who have a commerce or economics

B.Tech+ MBA definitely carries more value than the other alternative that you have mentioned in most of the business concerns.
