I genuinely felt that faculty at GIBS don't limit themselves to just teaching the syllabus. They're very involved when it comes to research, entrepreneurship, or even if someone wants to try a startup idea. Because of things like IRE (Innovation, Research & Entrepreneurship) and the whole incubation setup at campus, you actually see professors helping students build prototypes, pitch ideas, and even refine business plans. One of my friends worked on a research paper with a faculty member, and another team tried a small startup concept during our semester and got proper mentorship, not just theory.

For me, the best part is that the facul

Through a variety of hands-on and structured approaches, GIBS Business School supports students through research, entrepreneurship, and startup/incubation initiatives by providing access to faculty support.

    1. Dedicated Mentorship & Guidance

Faculty serve as Research Mentors and provide guidance to students on identifying research topics, developing research frameworks, collecting and analyzing Data and Publishing Research results or Making presentations at Conferences. Faculty mentor students to prepare them for preparing a high-quality Academic Work, not just a Theoretical Summary of the work.

GIBS Fostering a Supportive Environment for Career Development

The GIBS Business School understands that the pressure of placement preparation can be overwhelming, and therefore provides a supportive environment through a comprehensive student-centred approach to career development and mental wellness.

  • Structured Placement Preparation

GIBS takes a strategic approach to the placement preparation process by distributing it throughout the entire academic year, as opposed to cramming everything into the end of the year. Through this process, students develop their self-confidence through the use of workshops, mock interviews, group discussion

GIBS provides a supportive environment for introverted or non-marketing oriented students to develop their placement potential through a focus on personalized mentoring and emphasising strengths rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Students will be assisted by the placement team and faculty in finding appropriate career paths in analytics, finance, human resources, operations, research, back-end consulting or corporate support functions where communication skills are crucial but aggressive sales techniques are not required. Mock interviews, aptitude training, resume development, domain-based skill development and one-to-one mentor

From my experience, it's honestly a lot more than I expected. The CPM/finishing school itself runs almost like a separate layer on top of PGDM — regular skill-building sessions, aptitude training, communication practice, mock GDs, mock interviews, resume work, plus recruiter-specific prep. If you count it roughly, by 2nd year we easily cross a few hundred hours of structured training without even realizing it because it's spread across weeks and semesters. And apart from the official sessions, we have IRE workshops, bootcamps, events, and mentor reviews that also add up to placement prep indirectly. It's not like “two months crash

I feel clubs and committees at GIBS genuinely add value to our profile. We don't just join for certificates. We actually learn teamwork, planning, communication, and leadership by doing real activities on campus. Recruiters love seeing that kind of exposure because it shows that we can handle responsibilities beyond academics.

Also, being in committees like placement, cultural, IRE, or marketing helps us interact with corporates, organize events, coordinate with faculty, and work under time pressure. These experiences become super useful in interviews because we have actual examples to talk about. It also helps with confidence and makes
