Good question. Short answer — LPU is generally easier than Thapar for MBA, but it depends:
Thapar MBA (LM Thapar School of Management) admits via CAT, NMAT, CMAT, etc., and its MBA cutoffs are fairly high: Thapar's CMAT cutoff was ~75.
LPU MBA is more flexible: they accept LPUNEST, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT and require ~55% in graduation.
LPU also has a bigger intake and more scholarship options, so for someone looking at easier access + lower barrier, LPU tends to be more accessible.
So: if you want safety + flexibility → LPU. If you want a more “prestigious-MBA-school feel” and are confident in exam-based admission
