Good question. Short answer — LPU is generally easier than Thapar for MBA, but it depends:

Thapar MBA (LM Thapar School of Management) admits via CAT, NMAT, CMAT, etc., and its MBA cutoffs are fairly high: Thapar's CMAT cutoff was ~75.
LPU MBA is more flexible: they accept LPUNEST, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XA

The eligibility requirements for admission to the MBA course at Thapar University and LPU are almost similar, in which candidates are required to complete their graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% to 55%.
