Master of Computer Applications : The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a postgraduate degree in computer application stream awarded in India since 1982. Full time MCA programmes normally take place over three academic years. The primary emphasis in MCA curriculum is on development of application software in diverse areas for various organizations rather than designing computer hardware and systems software which is of interest to engineering stream in computer education. More than thousand institutions provide MCA courses in India with an annual intake of more than lakh students. MCA requires bachelors degree from any field of computer science like BCA(Bachelor in Computer Application) etc. MCA syllabus contains topics which helps the person to be a computer programmer, a software developer, software tester, web-developer, web designer, a game developer, graphic designer etc. The syllabus contains advanced topics like program structures, operating systems, computer networks, system administration and even microprocessors depending upon the university.
