Is it Information science as in mass communication which talks about generation, storage and retrieval or information technology which uses the electronic communication systems like AM and FM? If you want the definition then "Information science is an interdisciplinary science primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information" and "nformation technology (IT) is the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications".
